Main Responsibilities:
1) Financial Management:
Direct and oversee the implementation and adherence to the organization’s financial policies and procedures.
Participate in the age analysis of Accounts Receivables and Accounts Payables to ensure timely and accurate collection of billings or settlements of dues.
Monitor maintenance agreements/SLA signed with clients to ensure timely invoicing. Track the status of ongoing projects with the Head of Projects to ensure accurate billing and collections.
2) Financial Reporting:
Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts and annual consolidated financial statements in compliance with IFRS.
Prepare timely and accurate reconciliations and schedules, including the statement of compliance and Corporate Governance report for the audit review process.
Review both physical and electronic filing systems in line with applicable policies and fiscal regulations to ensure compliance with planned tax audits, surprise checks, and ISO-certified annual audits.
3) Budgeting and Forecasting:
Lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating with Head of Departments to establish realistic financial targets.
Lead the semi-annual forecasting exercise by providing budget versus actual results to Head of Departments and supporting their business planning assumptions for budget committee approval.
Collaborate with the budget team for regular budget-versus-actual review sessions and upload budgeted figures into the accounting software.
4) Cash Flow Management:
Manage cash flow effectively, optimizing working capital, improving cash conversion cycles and ensuring the organisation’s liquidity needs are met.
Leverage optimal strategies to ensure excess liquidity into short-term investments while reducing financial risks.
5) Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:
Coordinate with external/internal auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient tax and statutory audit process.
Review statutory compliance workings and ensure the filing of statutory returns within the MRA Tax calendar.
Stay abreast of changes in financial regulations and ensure the organisation’s compliance.
6) Team Leadership:
Lead the finance team, providing guidance and mentorship to team members.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development with the support of the performance management system in place.
Qualifications & Experience:
Completed Level 2 and ongoing Level 3 of ACCA, ACA or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.
Minimum ten (10) years of relevant experience in Accounting or Finance, preferably within a corporate environment.
Previous experience in auditing is desirable.
At least two (2) years of experience in a team leadership or supervisory role is desirable.
Strong understanding of ERP systems and multi-interfacing environments.
Experience in credit control, accounts receivable and collections would be an advantage.
